Joan E. Mazzu has been a Board Member of The David Center for three years. She and her husband Jeff (also a former TDC board member) met Dr. Pat Elvir and her husband Jim at a David Center fundraiser and were immediately impressed with their goal of supporting parents and educating the community about children with Autism spectrum disorders.

Joan is a sales and marketing Executive who has worked with entrepreneurial companies in the telecom sector. In 1999, she was named one of Crains New York Business "40 under 40". Joan has served on the Board of the Torch Foundation, a charitable organization formed by real estate executives to benefit childrens' causes. She also held the office of Treasurer. Her financial background has enabled her to run many successful fundraising events, and charity work continues to be an important part of Jeff and Joan's lives together.

Jeff is a principal at Morgan Stanley, where he runs all corporate services for North and South America. He has served on the board of the Covenant House and is a Board Member of AABR (American Association of the Blind and Retarded). Since his son Matthew was diagnosed with Autism, Jeff's focus has been on fundraising with organizations and schools that help children with Autism.

Jeff and Joan are recently new parents to Abigail, three months old.
